Graphics Cards
3 things to consider when buying a graphics card:
- VRAM (Video Memory) – VRAM affects how well a GPU can handle high-resolution textures and demanding games. For 1080p gaming, 8GB is generally sufficient, but for 1440p or 4K, or games with heavy texture use (like Cyberpunk 2077), 12GB or more is recommended.
- Power Supply & Case Compatibility – Check the GPU’s power requirements (wattage and connector type) and make sure your PSU can handle it. Also, ensure the card fits inside your PC case in terms of length and width (some high-end GPUs are very large).
- Performance vs. Price Tier – Match the GPU to your gaming or workload needs. For competitive gaming at high FPS, a mid- to high-tier card like the RTX 5070 or RX 9070 is ideal. For general use or budget builds, lower-tier models offer better value without overpaying for unnecessary power.
